TOP 5 THINGS TO DO OVER THANKSGIVING BREAK

Yes, get some sleep, but don’t sleep for 5 days!

Effectively using Thanksgiving break is crucial for coming back strong for the last push before finals are over. It's an opportunity to recharge while staying on top of your studies!

As we approach Thanksgiving break, it's important to make the most of it—recharge, yes, but also catch up on any work you might have fallen behind on.

  1. Reflect and Plan:

First things first, take a moment to reflect on your current workload and academic progress. What's working well, and what could use some improvement? Use this insight to create a simple plan for the rest of the semester. Break down your tasks into manageable chunks.  Make a list of what you want to accomplish over the break and what you will tackle first thing when you get back.

  1. Set Realistic Goals:

Now that you have a plan, set realistic goals for the break. Maybe it's completing a certain number of readings, finishing an assignment, or even starting that big project due after the break. Setting achievable goals gives you a sense of accomplishment and reduces stress.

  1. Unplug and Connect:

Put those phones down! Thanksgiving is about connecting with loved ones. Spend quality time with family and friends. Engaging in meaningful conversations and shared activities can be a powerful way to recharge. And hey, it's also a chance to step away from the screen for a bit.  Don’t forget to connect with your high school friends who are also home for break!

  1. Active Rest:

Let's talk about active rest. It's not just about lounging around (though a bit of that is totally okay). Consider incorporating some physical activity into your break—whether it's a nature walk, a workout, or even a dance party in your room. It's scientifically proven to boost your mood and energy levels.  This is a great way to unplug and connect with family and friends also!

  1. Revisit and Review:

Finally, use this time to revisit what you've learned so far. Review your notes, go over challenging concepts, and ask yourself if there's anything you need clarification on. It's a great way to reinforce your understanding and feel more confident heading into the final stretch.  Give yourself a pep talk.  The final couple weeks are going to be tough, but you’ve got this!

Effective use of the break can contribute to a more productive and balanced academic semester. Remember, this break is a chance to recharge, but it's also an opportunity to set yourself up for success in the weeks to come. Balance is key. Enjoy your Thanksgiving, everyone!

What is the one food you are most looking forward to having over your break?
